Do I have to be flexible to do pilates?

One of the most common questions I receive. You do NOT have to be flexible to move through a pilates session. This program is for EVERYONE and ALL fitness levels and I meet you where ever you're at on your fitness journey. The pilates method can provide you an increase in flexibility, mobility, strength, and much more! As you show up consistently, you'll see your efforts flourish.

A tip for my beautiful beginners?

YOU bring the intensity. Once you master neutral pelvis & imprinted spine you’ll feel the correct muscles engaged and turn up the heat about 10 notches. If you are new here, jump over to my Beginner Guide where you will learn some essentials that’ll guide you through a safe and effective workout. Without my key essentials implemented in the workouts, pilates will ultimately feel like more of a guided stretch class. Don’t get me wrong- we LOVE a good stretch however, there’s a time and place. Am I right? (;

I’ve heard that Pilates can be great for pregnancy & postpartum, is that true?

Absolutely! A consistent pilates practice can help strengthen your deep core, pelvic floor, and posture. I do recommend checking with you doctor before starting the program

Why did you pursue a career as a pilates instructor?

After my first reformer studio pilates session I was hooked from the start. Pilates was a form of movement I hadn’t ever experienced before that was energizing, toning, all while strengthening and targeting those small stabilizing muscles. (everything I didn’t know I needed from the beginning)

How would you describe the pilates method in your own words?

Pilates is a form of low-impact, complete body strengthening & conditioning that restores balance to the body. The pilates method focuses heavily on stabilizing the surrounding muscles of the spine and pelvis. Therefore, the muscles above, below, and surrounding those body parts can heavily benefit from this beautiful form of movement. (No muscle left behind!) Think of the pilates method as a whole body physical therapy session that’s also good for the soul.

What can I gain from consistent pilates practice?

One of the main goals of being a pilates instructor is helping set the tone in the class so the individuals can find their mind-body connection. I love how you can walk into class feeling the stress and anxiety from the day and walk out of class feeling 100% different. YES, it really is that amazing. With that being said, you can absolutely gain more mental clarity from a pilates session as we heavily focus on the mind-body connection. In addition to that, you can also benefit from greater flexibility, mobility, strength, balance, and breathwork.

Why do I love being a Pilates Instructor?

I love helping people not only see the changes this wonderful form of movement can do for them but also FEEL the difference as well. Joe Pilates once said, "In 10 sessions you'll feel the difference, in 20 sessions you'll see the difference, and in 30 sessions you'll have a whole new body".
